Mabalane: Show hunger to succeed

Cape Town – Moroka Swallows midfielder, Dikgang Mabalane, is eager to erase last PSL campaign from his memory and help push the Dube Birds to a better campaign.

Swallows finished a dismal 13th place in the PSL, two points point shy of the drop and playing the PSL playoff tournament.

Mabalane is desperate to bring back silverware to the Sowetan giants as 2012 was arguably the clubs most successful year with them being crowned MTN8 champions and fighting it out for the PSL title as they finished a strong second.

“Every professional wants to do their best, but it’s all about how much you want success,” Mabalane says to KickOff.

“When you set goals in this career you must also show hunger to succeed – setting goals alone is not enough.”

“The Terminator” as he is known, believes that it is easy to get sidetracked as a footballer and as he turns 35 in December the midfielder already knows he has achieved a lot but simply still wants more.

Moroka Swallows take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Cape Town Challenge on Friday July 25 at Athlone Stadium.
