Masehe feels appreciated

Cape Town - Free State Stars captain Paulus Masehe was thankful for the recognition from the club after receiving an early contract extension.

The Ea Lla Koto utility-man's prior deal with the club was scheduled to expire next month, but Masehe, together with Danny Venter and Angelo Kerspuy, have reached extensions with the Free State outfit.

The 31-year-old veteran brings vast experience to the Stars team, having previously played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

In the recently concluded season, Stars only just missed out on a top-eight finish in the Premiership, with Masehe starting 27 league games in the campaign where Stars came in ninth on the table.

"I feel really good about signing a new contract because it means the club believes in me. They didn't even wait until the end of the season to offer me a new deal," Masehe said on the club's website.

"By December they were already talking to me about it. That showed they believe in me and in my contribution."
