Johannesburg - Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Phil Masinga admits he doesn't see his former employers beating SuperSport United to the PSL title.
Bafana Bafana's third-highest top scorer of all time with 18 goals from 58 appearances told Football365.co.za that both sides are likely to finish level on points, which might hand Matsatsantsa their third consecutive title as their goal difference at the moment is superior to that of the Brazilians.
"I think Sundowns will beat Swallows on Wednesday at the Super Stadium, though it will be difficult, because Swallows is not a bad team. I think Sundowns will also beat Jomo Cosmos (on February 20)," he said.
"It is a must win for Downs and they also have no choice but to beat Golden Arrows in their last game. I know Arrows are Sundowns' hoodoo team, but not this time. This is Sundowns' home game and they will win."
Masinga predicts that SuperSport will win two of their last three games to clinch the title.
"I know SuperSport will be playing away from home on Wednesday against Platinum Stars, but they will win. It will be close, because Platinum Stars are unpredictable. I will give it to SuperSport and I think the difficult game for them will be Bidvest Wits on February 20. It will be a draw.
"The last game for SuperSport will be away to AmaZulu (on March 6) and I'm sure most people expect it to be tougher than the rest of their last three matches, but I see SuperSport winning this one, though they will be away from home. SuperSport are winners and if they win the league again, they deserve it," Masinga concluded.
