Myeni blow for Buccaneers

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni will miss Wednesday night's clash against Bloemfontein Celtic due to a thigh injury.

Pirates travelled to the city of roses to face Phunya Selesele in their PSL encounter at the Free State stadium.

Buccaneers PRO Mickey Modisane confirmed to Sport24, in an exclusive interview on Wednesday, that the former Wits skipper will be unavailable for their tough clash against Celtic.

"Unfortunately Myeni is out of tonight’s game," said Modisane.

"He is suffering from a slight thigh injury.

"But he was training with the rest of the squad yesterday.

"The team doctors are busy assessing him as we speak.

"It is not something serious though.

"I think he will resume to a full training tomorrow.

"But I can confirm that he will miss tonight’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic."

Both teams are still searching for their first victory of the 2014/15 season heading to this game.

Pirates lost, 2-1, in their opening game against Moroka Swallows last weekend and Celtic are coming from a 1-1 draw against Black Aces on Sunday.

The match will kick-off at 19:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
