New deal for Masango?

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are in the final stages of negotiating a new deal with Mandla Masango.

According to goal.com, an unnamed source reveals that Amakhosi are eager to tie down the attacking midfielder to a three-year deal as soon as possible.

“The matter is still between the club and the player's agent, but everything could be concluded this week,” said the source.

“However, having said that, these things take time, but the club hopes to finalise Mandla's contract before the end of the week.”

Throughout the season Masango has been linked with a European move, specifically France.

However, following his decline in form during the second-half of the PSL season, talks about a move abroad dim down.

The 25-year-old ended the season on a high, helping the Glamour Boys to an MTN8 victory in KwaZulu-Natal at the start of the season and then marking the campaign off with the Absa Premiership title.

Masango played in every PSL encounter, ending the season as Chiefs’ Top Goal Scorer (9) as well as Naturena’s Most Improved Player at the awards evening.
