PSL clubs warned about prankster

Cape Town - Benedict Vilakazi and Muhsin Ertugral are two high profile names that have been tricked into believing they have earned new deals.

KickOff.com are reporting that an unknown prankster is causing havoc in the PSL.

The prankster has added Benedict Vilakazi, Muhsin Ertugral and SuperSport United to his list of victims.

Benedict Vilakazi

Vilakazi was contacted by someone pretending to be Bloemfontein Celtic’s owner, Max Tshabalala, and told he had earned a spot in the Bloemfontein team's squad. Only when "Tso" arrived in the Free State did it become clear that someone had tricked the player and that there was no such deal.

Muhsin Ertugral

A man, acting as the chairman of SuperSport United, called Muhsin Ertugral in Turkey and informed him he had the been awarded the job at the Tshwane-based side. Ertugral only became aware that he had become a victim of the prankster when he called the club's CEO to confirm his acceptance of the offer.

SuperSport United

A fake press release advertising trials for SuperSport United's under 12 side is thought to also be part of the fraudster's work.

"Please help us put the statement straight, there are no trials for SuperSport United Under-12s at the Tshwane University of Technology,” said the club's spokesperson.
