Pirates host private memorial

Cape Town - According to KickOff.com website, Orlando Pirates will host a private memorial service for their late goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa on Friday afternoon.

The team this morning travelled to Durban to visit the Meyiwa family home in Umlazi and hold the ceremony ahead of the funeral at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday

Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza arranged today's event so that the players, who have been undergoing group therapy, can personally pay their respects to their fallen friend.

Vladimir Vermezovic's men are yet to properly train since Meyiwa was gunned down in Vosloorus on the East Rand of Johannesburg this past Sunday night.

The PSL have called off all ABSA Premiership fixtures this weekend.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
