Johannesburg - Following their first draw of the season, Kaizer Chiefs winger Siphiwe Tshabalala has given credit to Moroka Swallows for breaking the Amakhosi‘s 100% start to the league campaign.
The two giants shared the spoils in a 1-all stalemate at the FNB stadium last night as Lucky Baloyi found the net for the Dube Birds before Reneilwe Letsholonyane grabbed an equaliser for Chiefs.
Tshabalala believes Fani Madida’s men were rewarded for their first half performance which frustrated the Phefeni Glamour Boys.
"It was a tough game for us," said Tshabalala.
"Credit must be given to Swallows, they are a good team and they played very well.
"We didn’t have a good start to the game; they were all over us in the first 20 minutes.
"But we fought until the end and I think we had a better second half.
"We created a lot of chances in the second half and there were lots of movement.
"We took one point from the game and now it’s back to the drawing board."
The former Bafana Bafana player was being used more as a supporting striker by Stuart Baxter recently, but he has hinted that he will welcome any challenge at any given time.
"I am a professional, when I get a chance I have to take it and do my best.
"And in any position I play, I will keep on fighting.
"I will show my character and leadership on the field with the help of my teammates of course."
Chiefs will now switch their focus to the Telkom Knock-Out quarter-finals as they will host the wounded Platinum Stars on Sunday.
