Shabba coy on Chiefs future

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has confirmed that he would like to remain at the club when his contract expires.

The 30-year-old's current deal expires in June and while a new offer is not yet on the table, the Bafana Bafana ace has few doubts about where he would like to continue his career.

"My contract will be up next year in June... we haven’t started negotiating for a new one yet," Tshabalala told KickOff.

"But I’m a Kaizer Chiefs player and I’m very happy, I’m well looked after by the club. So for now I’m still part of Kaizer Chiefs, I still have a contract with Kaizer Chiefs."

"You know what, you never know what tomorrow holds." added Tshabalala.

"Sometimes football can be a funny game, but for me it was a dream come true to play for Kaizer Chiefs.

"I have been with the team for close to eight years now and I have enjoyed every moment.

"Chiefs is a very ambitious team with a rich history... we will see, but like I said I’m very happy at Chiefs and I have never complained about anything, not even once."

Tshabalala joined the Glamour Boys from Free State Stars in 2007 and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the Soweto derby.
