Both teams struggled to create chances throughout the match with the game ultimately ending without a goal being scored.
Scorching conditions welcomed the teams out on to the park and as a result chances were limited in the opening half-hour, with the players reserving some energy for when things cooled down a tad.
Siyabonga Nhlapo and Thulani Hlatshwayo went close for the visitors before Geofrey Massa came within an inch of opening the scoring for AmaTuks in the 39th minute.
Headed for the tunnel
Having won a free-kick 25 yards from goal, the Ugandan was expected to trouble Moeneeb Josephs and almost did put one past the former Orlando Pirates stopper.
His sweetly struck effort just fizzing past the right-hand post with Josephs, who had failed to pick-up the strike, rooted to the spot.
Thabo Mnyamane then sent a shot from range straight at Josephs on the cusp of half-time as the hosts headed for the tunnel on the front foot.
Chances continued to be hard to come by after the interval with the crowd having to wait till the hour mark to see either keeper make a save.
Jabulani Shongwe would feel that he should’ve done better with his attempt. Having found space in the penalty area, the Bidvest Wits midfielder could only manage to force Washington Arubi into a fine save.
Dived inside area
Buhle Mkhwanazi sent his bicycle kick just wide as Bidvest Wits pushed forward in the closing exchanges before AmaTuks were handed a blow with two minutes remaining.
Having received his first booking in the 83rd minute, the former NWU-Pukke striker saw the referee brandish a red card in the 88th after the official adjudged the forward to have dived inside the area.
Despite the man disadvantage, Tuks held on to secure a point and subsequently move up to 11th on the log standings.
The Clever Boys meanwhile end the year in third spot, 15 points behind Kaizer Chiefs.
