Sundowns on the right track

Pretoria - Following their first win of the season on Wednesday night, Mamelodi Sundowns winger Elias Pelembe believes that the Brazilians are now on the right track for their title defence.

The Absa Premiership reigning champions ended Moroka Swallows' impressive start to the new campaign in a 2-0 triumph at the Dobsonville stadium courtesy of goals from Mame Niang and Kuda Mahachi.

“We had a brilliant game tonight (Wednesday),” said Pelembe.

“We kept possession throughout the game like a team that needs to play.

“We have three clear-cut chances in the game and we managed to take two of them.

“We couldn’t score all of them it happens in football.

“I think, from today, we just need to keep our focus.

“I believe we are on the right track now.”

Victory for Pitso Mosimane’s charges sent them to the sixth spot on the log.

Their next game will be against Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday, August 27.
