Top-three mandate for Celtic

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic owner Max Tshabalala has told head coach Ernst Middendorp that he expects nothing short of a top-three finish in the Premiership this season.

Phunya Sele Sele have been far from consistent this term, with Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Ajax Cape Town leaving them eighth in the standings, having won four, drawn four and last four of their 12 league matches this term.

However, Tshabalala, who bought Celtic at the beginning of the campaign, has now delivered a mandate to the tactician, although Middendorp feels it may be an unrealistic target, considering his side's results so far this term.

"We have a very clear target set by the owners, which is top three," said Middendorp, whose side are currently four points behind third-placed Bidvest Wits. "I have to listen, I have to follow, I have to work on it.

"I don't know if seven days each with 24 hours is enough for this, I think I maybe have to find eight days with 24 hours each. But we continue to work hard."
