He named the project 'Play Me, I'm Yours' and probably never guessed it would become so popular that it would still be running seven years later... and right across the globe!
Daily Mail reports that since then more than 13 000 pianos have been installed in 45 cities across the globe carrying the simple instruction 'Play Me, I'm Yours', reaching roughly 60 million people worldwide.
The pianos that have popped up in cities around the world have been renovated and painted by local artists, often with help from their communities.
