The worst Ebola comments on social media to date

Cape Town - In the midst of international panic over an yet incurable disease, there are some ignorant social media users that should either be imprisoned for the crime of stupidity, or receive awards as comedians.

While some think Ebola is a president of an African country visiting America (dead serious), the disease is in fact an international threat and the worst Ebola epidemic on record, killing nearly 4 500 people to date. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the crisis is worsening in West African countries like Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, where the disease has hit the hardest.

Travel to and from high-risk West African countries is in dispute since cases have been reported in Europe and the United States, with some believing a travel ban from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone would help prevent the disease from spreading. South Africa has in fact banned citizens from these countries from entering the country.

On the other hand, others believe that halting travel would also stop aid and medical help coming in.

Regardless of the obvious seriousness of Ebola, some people just do not get it. Words fail us, just look at the tweets and post made about the 'all-elusive' Ebola, or it is 'Ebowler'?

And yes, even rapper Chris Brown made headlines with his revelation of a tweet...
