Cape Town - A series of amazingly magical ice caves in the US state of Wisconsin are set to be open to the public this weekend.
Located along the shoreline of Wisconsin's remote Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, these sea caves turn into a Narnia-like wonderland every winter, forming shapely icicles, frozen waterfalls and all sorts of trippy natural ice formations.
They are not, however, always open to visitors, as safety can be an issue.
Every year, there are a number of tests the ice must pass before it can be considered safe to be trodden on, Mashable reports, like being at least 25cm thick in certain areas.
And well, it seems like they're good to go this year! They were opened last year as well, for the first time since 2009.
