Johannesburg - Travellers who find themselves waiting for a connecting flight out of Johannesburg can opt to take a City Sightseeing tour of Joburg & Soweto right from the airport.
The world-famous hop-on, hop-off tour operator announced in a press release that it has opened a new ticket office at OR Tambo International airport.
Located in arrival hall A, the new ticket office is open every day from 6am to 10pm and allows for domestic and international travellers to purchase tickets for the City Sightseeing bus and Soweto Tour extension, collect up to date info on the City Sightseeing Tours and also receive assistance with finding and travelling on the Gautrain.

City Sightseeing staff will be able to advise if they have enough time to do the City Sightseeing tour before their next flight – and for those who do the tour there is a baggage storage facility nearby where they can safely leave their suitcases.
The City Sightseeing Red City Tour of Johannesburg’s CBD is in its second year of successful operation and City Sightseeing have made a point of ensuring that they are increasingly accessible to travellers – both locals and tourists alike – by having strategically placed ticket offices at Gold Reef City, the Gautrain Park Station, and now at OR Tambo airport.
Connect to City Sightseeing with the Gautrain
“You can start the City Sightseeing tour from any of the stops along the route – and with ease from Gold Reef City – however it is highly recommended that you connect to the City Sightseeing bus from the world class Gautrain, either at Park Station or via the new OR Tambo ticket office. Time permitting, visitors in transit at OR Tambo airport can travel by Gautrain directly from the airport to Park Station, catch the bus to enjoy a glimpse of Johannesburg before returning to the airport,” says Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing South Africa.
