Cape Town - Passengers have been left stranded after two FlySafair flights had to be postponed due to technical issues with the aircraft.
The affected flights are:
1 Apr 2015 Flight FA1301 (PLZ-CPT), FA1004 (CPT-JNB)
1 Apr 2015 Flight FA1300 from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth
In a statement posted on the FlySafair website the airline said, "We regret to inform passengers of a delay on flights FA1301 (from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town) and FA1004 (From Cape Town to Johannesburg), due to a technical issue on our aircraft.
"We are bringing in a backup aircraft to complete this schedule, but there will be a delay.
"Flight FA1301, will depart PE at 16:05 and arrive in Cape Town at 17:35. We are very aware of the big concert this evening and will do everything in our power to ensure that fans are there before the show starts.
"Flight FA1004 will depart Cape Town at 18:00 and arrive in Johannesburg at 20:10.
"Again, a massive apology from our side regarding these delays. Safety is always our primary concern and we are doing everything in our power to get you to your destinations as quickly as possible."
The airline has also been responding to passengers on social media saying it was forced to cancel the flight, "It was unavoidable as the plane had to go for maintenance."
A similar incident took place in December 2014, when a FlySafair flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town had to turn around due to 'minor technical issues' 48 minutes into the flight.
