WATCH: Several injured on violently turbulent AA flight

Cape Town - American Airlines passengers on flight 280 en route from Seoul, South Korea to Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas were severely traumatised and some injured after a 45 minute horror flight through the one of the worst cases of turbulence ever. 

After a horrific flight right through the heart of a storm that's blazing over the western side of the Pacific Ocean, the pilot was eventually able to divert the plane to land in Narita, Japan. 

14 Passengers and crew were injured. Some were treated by medical personnel as soon as the flight landed in Narita, although 4 passengers and 1 crew member had to be hospitalised after the ordeal, reports CNN.

According to American Airlines, there were 240 passengers and 15 crew members on board the flight.

Ron Baker, a commercial pilot, told the Washington Post that the incident, and the footage recorded on the flight, must serve as a warning to passengers to always keep their safety belts fastened, and to always adhere to the safety precautions and instructions on board flights as turbulence is bound to happen.
