While some passengers seem to deal with their fear by making inappropriate jokes about the situation (and proceed to get escorted off flights), others have taken their health into their own hands by either avoiding travel altogether or taking major precautions.
Like the woman, for instance, who was spotted wearing an extremely home-made (and probably completely ineffective) HazMat suit at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. in the US last week.

Twitter user Joe Henchman snapped a photograph of the paranoid passenger kitted out in blue garbage bags, surgical gloves and a mask, and shared it with his followers. Since then it has been retweeted 2 000 times and also appeared in various publications around the globe.
