Reddit user TeaDranks recently did exactly this, taking a world map and reimagining what it would look like if it were scaled by population instead of landmass.
Because the shape of the continents and countries have remained reasonably recognisable, the map may not strike you as too challenging at first glance.

However, a little bit of a longer look reveals that medium-sized India will be a whole lot larger, while massive Canada and Russia shrink dramatically. In fact, all that remains of Canada is a thin red line.
Certain countries, such as Greenland, Samoa, Monaco, Vatican City and Liechtenstein are even too small to appear on the map!
We think it's pretty cool.
