Cape Town - The newest, and biggest, addition to the Costa Cruises family is currently being prepped for its inauguration on the 7th of November, after which it will set sail on the Mediterranean.
The Costa Diadema is designed by the veteran cruise ship designer Joe Farcus, and is said to be the embodiment of Italian flair, therefore the inclusion of 7874 artworks, silkscreens and reproductions, reports iAfrica.
41 Artists have been commissioned to help create various art objects to adorn the cruise ship. In total it is expected to carry 190 original paintings and works of mixed media, 27 sculpted pieces and 260 digital artworks, among others.
Although the cruise ship boasts about its spacious design - complete with multiple floor suites - it will be able to carry 3646 guests, excluding the crew.
