PICS: Miss World Rolene Strauss poses in the cockpit before jetting off to Hong Kong

Cape Town - South Africa's very own Rolene Strauss, Miss World 2014, is starting off her year of travelling with a trip to Hong Kong. Before she jetted off on Wednesday, 28 January, however, the Volksrus beauty delighted her Facebook fans with a pic of her posing as a pilot in the cockpit.

Earlier on Wednesday morning Rolene posted on Facebook saying, "Ready for my 12 hour flight to Hong Kong today, looking forward to meet amazing people and do great things!"

Rolene will be the face of the initiative "Beauty with a Purpose" throughout this year, until she hands over her Miss World duties to her successor.

On this Asian leg of her travelling, she will visit India, Hong Kong, China and Philippines and contribute towards the Beauty with a Purpose projects from each of these countries.

Miss World's duties includes travelling for a year, whilst fulfilling charitable duties all over the globe as an ambassador for hope, education and female rights, among other things.

Rolene seems to be a daredevil of note, as describes her most memorable moment on her official Miss World page, as jumping off the iconic Bloukrans Bungee Bridge near Nature's Valley in the Western Cape. She says the experience made her "reconsider everything in [her] life"!
