WATCH: Most epic airline safety video ever?

Wellington - Air New Zealand on Thursday released a new Hobbit-themed in-flight safety video featuring movie director Sir Peter Jackson and actor Elijah Wood.

The four-and-a-half minute video follows the adventures of two Hobbit fans through Wellington airport and on to a plane where they sit alongside Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in the movies.

Director Sir Peter Jackson makes a guest appearance, as do Hobbit actors Dean O'Gorman, who played Fili the Dwarf, and Sylvester McCoy who played Radagast.

A previous Hobbit-inspired safety video, released in 2012, attracted more than 12 million views online.

The final movie in The Hobbit trilogy is set for release in December.
