Cape Town - The World Naked Bike ride (WNBR) makes a turn in the Mother City on Saturday, 7 March, in a bid to stop the indecent exposure of planet earth to toxic carbon gasses emitted from vehicles.
The WNBR is a global initiative hosted in around 70 cities, including London, Spain and New York, which seeks to create awareness around environmental issues we face, as well as the dangers faced by cyclists on local roads.
Saturday, 7 March, marks the southern hemisphere's turn to bare its bum with this unique event that aims to peacefully unite people for a worthy cause.
The event is open to EVERYONE, and participants are welcome to participate using any human-powered vehicles.
The drill
The (un)dress code for the Naked Bike Ride is ‘As Bare As You Dare’, so participants can decide if they want to hang out, or just show a tid-bit of skin. Body paint is highly encouraged and cyclists can use their bodies as a canvas to display their protest slogan.
The Cape Town WNBR also encourage cyclists to bring a 'noise-making device', so remember to bring your other vuvuzela too (wink).
The one rule
NO gawkers are allowed. So don't come perving on the do-gooders!
