Gautrain schedule changes announced

Cape Town - Passengers travelling to OR Tambo International Airport are delighted by the Gautrain’s recent announcement to offer earlier and later trains to and from Sandton station.

iafrica reports the Gautrains will be leaving Sandton station from 04:50 and 05:10, and run from the airport station up until 20:46 and 21:04.

The earlier and later trains do not stop at any other stations, only OR Tambo and Sandton. Gautrain bus and shuttle services are available to help passengers get to the preferred stations.

Passengers responded well on various social media platforms, congratulating and thanking Gautrain for the initiative.

Trudi Schwartz, a Gautrain Facebook follower, posted, “Good. This has been a long time coming. There are so many flights that leave early – 06:00am, so these new services are very welcome. Go Gautrain!”

More information on bus and shuttle services can be found here.

Although the response to the Gautrain’s earlier and later services have had a predominantly positive reaction on social media, many passengers were upset by the power failure incident that occurred Friday the 29th of August.

Gautrain have since announced that any passengers who were affected by this power failure will be refunded for losses due to the failure.
