Cape Town - Have you ever stood in a check-in line moving 5 centimeters per hour until you eventually give up and fall down on your luggage - right there in the queue?
Yes? Don't feel ashamed. Your worries might soon be over!
The NeXstep suitcase, a new patented suitcase with a handle that pulls out to convert into a small chair might soon be available to travellers who are tired of standing in long queues with their luggage.
The suitcase's handle is able to completely detach from the case and fold into an 'X'-like chair with a cloth seat. This seat is also handy for placing the suitcase on when travellers want to unpack/pack something in an uncomfortable environment.
The NeXstep suitcase will be made if the founder of this patent, Brian Gibson, receives enough support from outside investors to enable it to be manufactured for consumers' use.
The suitcase is currently listed on the crowd-funding site, Kickstarter. This website is a dedicated platform which offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch their ideas to the world and receive funding from interested investors.
The NeXstep suitcase has so far received only 4% of the R1 330 228 it needs in order to begin manufacturing. There are, however, still 42 days left (on the 13th of October) for investors to back the project.
