When visiting a foreign country or travelling locally, there are life threatening diseases and situations that you should be aware of, such as malaria, yellow fever and the possibility of food poisoning or diarrhea.
Do you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, asthma or other serious health conditions? These are important questions. Most likely, the last thing on your mind could be your dental health, but the pain of a broken or carious tooth can ruin that business meeting or well-deserved holiday.
If you take prescription medication:
• Pack enough to last your entire trip, including some extra in case you are unexpectedly delayed.
• Carry you medication in their original labeled containers and pack them in your carry-on bag since checked baggage is occasionally delayed or lost.
• Ask your doctor for the generic equivalent name of your prescriptions in case you need to purchase additional medication abroad.
• Keep a copy of your prescription medication with you. Some countries have strict regulations in this regard.
