Cape Town - Come 1 November 2014, and Cape Town will have its very own 'foofy-slide' zipping over the national heritage area on the southern side of Table Mountain near Constantia Nek.
The new zipline has come as a big, well-welcomed surprise to adventure lovers, as the owner Clinton Lerm and an expert team have been building the zipline in secret on the Silvermist Mountain Lodge and Wine Estate for the past few months, reports Netwerk24.
Lerm is the owner of an adventure company called SA Forest Adventures.
The zipline is built to be one of the best and most adventurous in South Africa yet. It hangs up to 155 meters above the tree canopy below and stretches over 2,3km. The longest zipline cable on the route is 470 meters.
The cable can carry up to 16 tonnes and will be tested with a 3 ton weight block before opening to ensure the experience is both thrilling and safe for sliders.
