Aprilia Caponard: Has it missed ANYTHING?

Cayenne is offering three versions of the latest Aprilia Caponord: the 1200 ABS for R149 900, 1200 ABS Electronic Travel Pack for R169 900 and the 1200 ABS Rally Adventure for R199 000.

In April 2015, Wheels24 reported in April 2015 that the 2015 Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally, a radical version of the bike maker's Caponord 1200, had already arrived in South Africa.

The new Aprilia Caponord 1200 models are powered by a 1200cc V-twin. It has new panniers with aluminum covers, a 24-litre fuel tank, new oversized windshield and engine guards, as well LEDs.

The 1200 ABS model, as its name suggests, has anti-lock brakes, ride-by-wire, three riding modes (sport, road, tour), Aprilia's multimedia app, adjustable screen, 24-litre tank, Brembo brakes, braided-steel hoses, adjustable rear shocks and heatable grips.

It's sold with a three-year service plan; panniers are an option.

Aprilia SA sales director and co-owner of the Cayenne Group, Craig Langton, said: "All three variants have many more features than our competitors. Reading international media April launch tests, journalists rated the Caponord way ahead of its competitors such as BMW, KTM, Ducati and Triumph, clearly saying the new Caponord is way ahead in terms of features, handling, performance, comfort and generally all-round winners in its class.”

ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION

Caponord 1200 units are fitted with the bikemaker's ADD (Aprilia Dynamic Damping) suspension, selected via the handlebar.

With the Caponord 1200 Rally's ADD system however, all the rider has to do is ride as the system automatically adapts the bikes suspension depending on road conditions.
