JOHANNESBURG - The Cayenne Group has announced that the first shipment of the popular EBR 1190 RX Superbike will arrive in South Africa later in August 2014.
The new superbike will retail for R189 900 albeit for a "limited period only".
The 2014 EBR 1190 RX is a street-legal, high-performance motorcycle and a direct descendant of EBR’s race-bred limited edition 1190 RS Super Bike.
According to EBR: "The 1190 RX features many new rider-focused features and has substantially raised the bar over competitive sportbike offerings."
'BREAKTHROUGH ENGINE DESIGN'
The new motorcycle weighs 190kg and boasts 137kW from its ET-V2 1190 cc V-Twin engine. It offers 21 traction control settings and a claimed fuel consumption of 5.8-litres/100km.
According to EBR: "The breakthrough engine design and EBR’s racing-inspired handling features are coupled with all-new styling and scientifically-derived aerodynamics that rival the performance and ride ability of any superbike produced by any manufacturer in the world. "

Its digital instrument cluster allows the rider to adjust performance settings such as traction control, view track performance data, service intervals and system diagnostics.
Cayenne Group dealer principal Craig Langton said: “We have structured a great package for the new EBR 1190 RX Superbike.
"It will include our MFC financial package consisting of a guaranteed buy back, free Service for the life of the EBR, no deposit, free licence and registration, a residual, our normal great trade in prices, plus our recent addition, the finance for all accessories from our new Cayenne Accessory operation.
“We have researched the cost and chatting to customers on buying a complete new outfit when they buy a new motorcycle or if they want a complete makeover, it’s quite a costly outlay, it can now all be included in the finance package.”
The EBR 1190 RX will arrive in South Africa "at the end of August 2014" in two colours - red and yellow.
