Champion has introduced replacement hybrid and vehicle-specific plastic front and rear wiper blades. Yes, plastic..,
The company claims its Aerovantage wiper-blade technology is the latest innovation in clearing your view of water and muck.
Marketing director Heath Stow says the blades have a clear plastic frame with a conventional hook connection, range in length from 35-65cm and click into place with a pre-fitted connector.
STEEL AND PLASTIC
Stow said: “The hybrid wiper blades have a steel sub-structure supporting twin spring flexors and rubber wiping elements. That means outstanding resistance to corrosion and ultra-violet radiation.
“The aerodynamic shape acts as an air spoiler for better wiper performance and the curved or bowed flexor equalises pressure along the blade to optimise contact with the windscreen."
Stow added that blades for rear-windows matched or exceeded original-equipment and were fitted by a number of internationally recognised automotive manufacturers. None was named.
