Mansory's 521kW Golden SLR debuts

accreditation
Renowned German based exotic tuner, Kourosh Mansory, has glamorised his name yet again, by adding a golden tint to the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren.

Ron might not like it...

Although it might cause the overworked and highly strung crew at McLaren's Woking headquarters to spew in the breakfast corn-flakes, the Mansory Renovatio, with its gold finish, has massive presence.

Sporting a matte finish, the carbon-fibre body components, especially the aerodynamically biased front-apron, channels air to feed the customised intercoolers, keeping the 5.4-litre, supercharged V8 happily ticking over.

New side skirts, and particularly the protruding side-exhaust outlets, ensure the requisite supercar look is taken to a new level.

From a functional perspective the rear apron with its integrated diffuser ensures additional down-force - enhancing high-speed stability - whilst adding the last, neat detailing to the overall styling package.

Deft tuning

Already sporting a massively powerful and durable engine in the form a Mercedes-Benz 5.4-litre supercharged V8, producing 460kW and 780Nm, Mansory powertrain engineers left the internals largely untouched.

Instead, the forced induction and cooling systems were seen as agents of power liberation, and with a remapped ECU keeping tabs on the changes, a more powerful supercharger and intercooler have been integrated.

The subsequent increase in forced induction and cooling has seen power been hiked to an astonishing 521kW, whilst torque now peaks at 880Nm.

Unsurprisingly performance has become even more extreme with a 340km/h top speed and ridiculous 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds.

Keeping it steady

With such corpulent power and Newtonian performance the Mansory Renovatio necessitates the best rubber and tyre combinations available to ensure high-speed stability and failsafe handling.

The 20-inch one-piece turbine-wheels feature five double spokes each and are shod with 255/30mm Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres at the front and 325/25mm at the rear.

The interior receives a leather revamp with only the most exquisite craftsmanship ensuring a blend of leather which is both durable and soft.

Decorative stitching, a redesigned steering wheel (still airbag equipped), aluminium pedals, illuminated door tread plates and real carbon-fibre embellishments round off the extraordinarily bespoke feel of the Mansory Renovatio.
