1 If garage space is limited at your home you might have issue parking cars with wide doors and getting out might take some skill. Even though the Tourneo is rather long, opening its sliding doors and extracting yourself from the vehicle proves very easy. 

2 My child hates being placed in the car seat until the vehicle starts moving - like most babies - so the fact that the doors slide open for easy access to get her inside as quick as possible is very helpful.

The doors are great in horrid weather and you don't have to fumble around or lookout for a door slamming into you when the 'Cape Doctor' blows about.

3 I always have loads of kit and oddities that often needs its own place when traveling. I hate carrying a handbag so the Tourneo's clever storage space is incredibly useful. Its compartments are probably what makes Ford's van a treat with families.

You're able to leave extra toys or jackets in the vehicle during a stop-over. There's even a smart, hidden compartment under the driver's seat for storing valuables.

4 The rear seats tumble forward via a quick-release tag. I'd prefer a release button on top of the seats as you're forced to open the boot, reach in to pull the seat tags and move to the side again to pull the seats flat. If you're as vertically challenged as I am, this system can be very tedious.

5. If I could have my way, all vehicles would have double mirrors - perhaps not sport cars. It's a great tool for spotting bulling taxi drivers who try and command traffic with inconsiderate behaviour. Given the Tourneo's size, its double mirrors are important for spotting road users lurking in your blindspots.

The van's mirrors helps with tricky parking spots and proves as an extra set of eyes for spotting pedestrians.
