In terms of chassis and suspension, the 2015 Camaro uses a reworked version of the Alpha platform, used it the 2013 Cadillac ATS.
The Alpha platform is a light and compact design capable of handling both rear and all-wheel drive configurations and having a near 50/50 weight distribution. GM tips its next bow-tie badged muscle car to sport better handling.
NEW TWO-LITRE UNIT?
The Camaro spotted by our spies shows a quad exhaust, a tell-tale sign that the prototype is not a base V6 test mule but is propelled by a roaring V8.
The current 6.2 V8 as well as the entry-level V6 are likely to be carried over to the new version. It’s rumoured that a two-litre turbocharged four from the 2015 Cadillac ATS could make its way to the engine line-up.

In the ATS, the two-litre is tuned to 203kW/400Nm, well short of the 233/433Nm produced by the 2.3-litre EcoBoost 2015 Ford Mustang.
Aesthetically, the prototype shows a long bonnet and a very low roof line. Another assertive stylistic element is its flat, long side windows. At the front, we can see new version of the current Camaro's wide, narrow grille.
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro could make its debut at the 2015 Detroit auto show in January or the 2015 New York auto show in April. Production will take place at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan, the same site where the Cadillac ATS and CTS are built.
