Gone are the wide fenders that seemed to be bolted on; so are are the improvisations seen the first time out. In fact, the car captured by the spyguys seems to be near production-ready, with a wider rear and wide wheels.
Under those wheels, massive cross-drilled rotors hide, while the boot lid has gained a small lip for more downforce on the rear rubber. At the front, the bumper shows a new design for the side air-intakes.
FASTER THAN THE M235i
Its quad exhausts hint to an upgraded version of the N55 units used in all BMW's with a ‘35i’ alphanumeric badge on the boot. In this application it will be making close to 275KW and 500Nm.

The M2 will most likely be available with a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto, as well as a limited-slip differential.
Such specs should make the M2 a bit faster than the current M235i coupe. Since the M235i can sprint to 100km/h in 4.6sec (with xDrive 4x4), the M2 should go under 4.5sec.
Production is supposed to start in November 2015 so expect the M2 to make a first appearance in concept guise at the 2015 Geneva auto show with the production model to be unveiled at the September 2015 Frankfurt show.
