Julie says:

By George, this is a classy wedding dress.

So perpetual bachelor George Clooney has tied the knot with the ever-elegant barrister Amal Alamuddin. It’s fair to say my expectations were high due to all the photos we’ve seen of her before.

I’m not surprised this dress is amazing. The most amazing thing about it is the texture – don’t you just want to touch it? It’s like it’s actually made of real flowers.

I’m not a fan of the somewhat severe neckline, but she makes it work. It’s the accessories – the fraai bouquet, her relaxed hair and naturally her glow that make her look heavenly.

The super- long veil adds an air of regality to the bride – oh, and it took place in Venice with guests arriving on boats. NBD. She truly does look like a queen and George looks like he hit the jackpot.

This is what a celebrity heavyweight wedding looks like, and to be honest, I think it’s because there’s only one celebrity in the mix.

Julie’s Rating: Prince Harry’s future wife – take notes.

Layla says:
After the Jolie-Pitt union, the next big day we were looking out for (I would say “forward to”, but that would be a lie because my heart is in tatters. MY GEORGE MARRIED A WOMAN THAT ISN’T ME!) was the Alamuddin-Clooney wedding.

Yes, ladies. George Clooney is officially off the market. And he’s chosen well by sharing eternal wedded bliss with human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin.

A match made in heaven, right?

He and his saving of the Sudan and she and her human rights work. Could a more suitable couple exist?

And the pics of the couple on their wedding day do not disappoint. Joy and celebs all around.

But let’s get to the dress.

Amal chose well with this look. The silhouette of the dress, the bouquet of white flowers and the simple, sheer veil go together to create a picture of elegance. More importantly, she’s a positively radiant and happy bride, which completes the look.

A happy bride is a beautiful bride, after all.

The only thing I’d change if I were the one wearing the dress (but I’m not because he chose to not marry me *sobs*) would be the long train following the dress.

I don’t imagine clumsy me would easily move about in a dress with a train of any length, but I’m sure Amal made it work for her. She’s a capable woman, after all.

Layla’s rating: Superimposing my face into this picture to prove we’d make good-looking babies.

*Disclaimer: I’m not really a deranged lunatic pining after George Clooney. I’m truly happy that he’s found love.

Overall rating: 8/10
