Is this the most unnecessary wedding dress ever?

When I first stumbled across this piece featured on The Huffington Post, my first thought was how on earth would someone be able to walk in that?

My colleague Carmen, on the other hand, couldn't help but wonder how on earth one would actually managed to put this on without breaking all the delicate beading.

We’re not quite sure why this dress is quite necessary, but according to The Huffing Post, Gail Be, an American based artist and designer, spent over 833 days completing this beaded wedding dress that weighs 400 pounds (that’s just over 181kg).

Gail, who used over 500 000 glass pearls and approximately 400 000 crystals, and according to Bustle.com, worked with a team of 23 assistants in order to get the project done. The dress, which was dubbed Fantasy, is clearly meant to be just that, as the model who tried the dress confirms that it was painful and that she could barely move in it. She does go on to add that despite this, she felt like she was a fairy tale princess.

And isn't that what your wedding dress is supposed to let you feel like?

Would you wear this dress?
