4 of the most ridiculous moments on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

accreditation

If you’re a fan of the TLC channel on DSTV, you’ll know that there are a number reality shows about weddings on offer.

From Say Yes to the Dress and Something Borrowed, Something New to Four Weddings and  Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids, there’s plenty of bridal related shows that provide inspiration, entertainment and a (mostly) honest look at wedding planning.

Of course, there’s always one programme where the people featured take things way too far. And in this case, the show we’re talking about is none other than My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

From ball gowns wider than the Pacific ocean to epic wedding guest brawls and wedding planning shenanigans, this reality programme is one show that should definitely be watched – if only for its sheer ridiculousness.

Here are 5 clips that highlight just how over-the-top the show is.

The outrageous dresses

For these brides, the bigger the better and the puffier, the prettier.  Except it’s not. The gowns are gobsmackingly awful, the colours will make your eyes bleed; and trying to watch the brides get out of a car or walk down the aisle is both cringe-worthy and hilarious.

The brawls

Because what reality show would be complete without a physical smack-down.  And boy are these people absolutely rof.

The love triangle(s)

I can’t think of anything even remotely positive to say about this clip, so I’m just going to go ahead and put it out there for you to judge for yourself.

The wedding dress design process

I apologise in advance for this monstrosity.  In this clip you’re almost lulled (and I mean almost) into believing that this dress might not be that bad, but when you see the actual end result... well, that’s a different matter entirely.
