10 jobs that are simply, the worst

accreditation
It’s always difficult to get back to work after a super long weekend, (thank you Easter for the much needed break). You struggle to concentrate, your 9 hours of work suddenly feels like 19 and waking up early is just the worst.

But, while you are reluctantly getting back into the monotonous routine of working, you can console yourselves with this: no matter how bad your job is, it will never be as crappy as these 10 jobs:

1.    Proctologist

Normally people in the medical field are held in high esteem. They are ridiculously smart, cure the sick and make a pretty penny doing it. Yet, for the proctologists of the world this comes at a price. They literally stick it where the sun doesn’t shine – everyday. Imagine spending your day...there. Eeek!

2.    Sewage worker

These poor souls spend their time walking, breathing and cleaning through all the crap (literally) and other unpleasant things that get flushed down our toilets. Newsweek  gives you an inside look at what it is like to be a sewage worker in India. Spoiler alert: it stinks.

3.    Barnyard masturbator

Yes, you read that correctly. There are people in the world who actually get paid to jerk off farm animals. Listverse states that this is done for artificial insemination, and while there are tools designed to do this, sometimes the only way is the old fashioned way - by hand.

4.     Portable toilet cleaner

If you have been to a music festival or construction site, you’ll know how disgusting portable potties can get. The smell alone is enough to make you hold it for hours. Now image having to clean one of those things? Not pleasant.

5.    A guard at Buckingham Palace

According to The Telegraph this is considered the worst job in the British army. Not only do the guards have to stand for hours without moving, they have to deal with idiotic tourists and itches they can’t scratch. Also, if their uniforms are not absolutely perfect they get punished – with more guard duty!

6.    Snake milker

While most people run for the hills screaming when they see a poisonous snake (or any snake for that matter) there are people in this world who actually have to collect snake venom by hand. Inside Jobs states that snake venom is needed for making anti-venom which can combat poisonous snake bites. This can happen when you are hiking in the woods, playing in a field or, uhm, milking a freaking snake!

7.    Manure inspector

We all know manure is great fertilizer, but not just any animal dung will do. According to Daily News , manure has to be tested for contaminants like E.coli and salmonella - and someone has to test it. This sometimes involves going through tons of animal waste to collect samples. Think about that the next time you complain about that “earthy” manure smell.

8.    Crime-scene cleaner

If you thought getting a wine stain out of your carpet was bad, imagine getting a blood stain out. Business Insider wrote an article where an actual crime-scene cleaner shared what his job is like. Let’s just say that after reading it, you will be happy you are cleaning up after a few messy kids rather than a decomposing body.

9.    Medical waste bio-hazard cooker

Medical waste is disgusting. It is also dangerous, therefore, needs to be cooked to make it less hazardous. Top Online Engineering Degree states that bio-hazard cookers come into contact with urine, semen, feces, blood and teeth, which they have to cook, and we’re sure that, that meal does not smell great.

10.    Odour judge

How do you know if your deodorant is effective? You do a smell check. But smelling your own armpit and smelling a stranger’s is a whole other ball game. Live Career tells us that odour judges have to smell everything from armpits, feet, bad breadth and even used kitty litter – all to make sure that the products combating these smells work.
