Around the world in 10 lip colours: which city’s lip trend do you follow?

accreditation
Every city has its own unique vibe, culture, look and trends – so, it is only natural that they would have their own signature lipstick colour too.

For the first time ever, a Lipstick Colours of the Year Report has been compiled to see the most popular colours by city, around the world.

The report was compiled by London's Heathrow airport. Yes, that’s right. An airport – but when you think about it, this makes perfect sense.

After all, hundreds of thousands of people from around the world pass through and shop there daily – and it is home to Europe’s largest beauty range under one roof  according to the report.

According to Harper’s Bazaar Heathrow beauty sales have been flourishing, and using this they pulled together their data to draw up the report.

Here are 10 cities their favourite lip colours:

1.    Johannesburg – Sheer bright pink
2.    New York – Classic red
3.    Hong Kong – Coral pink
4.    Sydney – Coffee nude
5.    Nairobi – Burgundy
6.    Milan – Bright fuschia
7.    London – Caramel nude
8.    Paris – Dusky rose
9.    Delhi – Orangey red
10.  Buenos Aires – Deep rose pink

The report covered 50 countries around the world. To see them all click here.

The Daily Mail reports that in addition to the report, Heathrow commissioned micro sculptor, Hedley Wiggan , to carve 5 landmarks using the lipstick colour associated with  the city the landmark comes from.
