This month I am absolutely loving the new Volume Collection by Moroccanoil. It works as well as it smells, trust me.

I have really fine hair and want nothing more than a Marilyn Monroe retro-curl mop. Yet, I've never really been able to achieve that look.

Recently, fashion designer Jenny Packham showcased gorgeous vintage-inspired hair looks for Spring/Summer 2015. Which is why we can't wait to try this look now!

It's party season, and why not glam up your do with a bit more volume? It will transform your look, I promise.

Here Moroccanoil Global Creative Director and Celebrity Hairstylist, Antonio Corral Calero, gives us some expert volume tips for party season:

What are some of the factors that cause loss of volume in hair?

Humidity and styling products that are too heavy for your hair are two factors that can actually cause loss of hair volume. Also, over-conditioning your hair can result in less volume.

Are there specific haircuts or styles that make hair look more voluminous?

If your hair is fine, I recommend opting to take off some length because added weight, such as long length, can make the hair appear flat. Also, if you feel like you need something to lift your hair, adding some soft layers to create movement will give you that extra height that you are looking for.

How can I create big, sexy hairstyles if I have fine hair?

It’s all about the right product. Starting with a good base is really essential, so I recommend using Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and Moroccanoil Extra Volume Conditioner as the perfect prep to give your hair extra lift.

I also always recommend using Moroccanoil Treatment Light to protect fine strands.  For creating big, sexy hairstyles on any hair type Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse and Moroccanoil Root Boost are styling essentials. The Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse will give hair the volume you are looking for while Moroccanoil Roost Boost will provide ultimate lift from the roots.

What is the best way to blow-dry hair for a full-bodied style?

I recommend using Moroccanoil Root Boost at the scalp to create a textured foundation and then ‘rough-drying’ your hair till it’s almost dry. Afterwards, lightly smooth the ends out with your favorite Moroccanoil round brush to tame and control hair.

Another great trick to create a voluminous blowout at home is to use your fingers to flip your hair upside down once the hair is almost completely dry and use a large round brush to smooth just the very ends of hair.

What are insiders tips (backstage, red
carpet, etc.) for achieving sexy, voluminous hair?

The rough-dry technique - blow drying without a brush - combined with the amazing versatility of new Moroccanoil Root Boost is our secret to great volume backstage on and the red carpet.

Moroccanoil Root Boost can be applied directly at the root before blow drying or throughout hair to add great texture for styling. This season we created a modern ‘old Hollywood glamour’ hair style for the Jenny Packham SS 2015 show in New York with a lot of bounce and volume.

The below hair tutorial will show you how to get Jenny Packham runway hair:
