How curvy girls wear the over-sized shirt

Photographer: Rachel Robinson

Mind the Curves is a fashion and lifestyle blog for ladies with curvy bodies living in South Africa.

It is written by the Girl in the Pearls, a professional journalist, editor and content strategist based in Cape Town. She cares very deeply about the topic of body positivity.

For a long time it’s something she wanted to write about, and it seemed like a very good idea, until it evolved into something that involved having her pictures taken, which is much easier said than done when you can’t take yourself seriously and like to pull funny faces and make silly noises very much.

Thank you for joining her on this journey. She hopes, together, that we can learn to love and rock what we got.

Wearing the over-sized shirt

Since the long ago days of school uniforms, I’ve had barely any interactions with button-up shirts. Due to the often unforgiving stiffness of the fabric, it’s been near impossible to find ones that fit over my buxom breasts and bulging biceps. (Yes, let’s go with that description).

Thus, my joy at finding this over-sized guy, who hides all the bumpy bits I don’t love showing off, and looks pretty bad ass with a belt round my smallest part.

Whaddayathink?

P.S. This shoot got a little weird.
