How to lose 5kg just by getting dressed: part 4

accreditation
A tailored coat is the perfect alternative to wearing bulky layers. It makes dressing for warmth and style so easy to do. But what style and length should you look for? Watch this short clip for my tips.

A tailored coat is an investment, so you want to be able to wear it with most of your wardrobe.

Here are some tips on how to choose the perfect colour and fabric for your wardrobe.

If you mostly wear neutrals then select a coat in a bold colour or print to make your winter look pop. You can really go wild with this one and select a coat that expresses your personality.

Consider a coat in bright red or embroidered fabric that will mix well with your otherwise neutral wardrobe.

If you wear lots of colour and print then tone it down. Select a neutral colour (black, chocolate, charcoal, camel, ivory) that will go with most of your wardrobe.

If plain is just too boring for you, then consider a leather, tweed or textured fabric. Just remember, neutral doesn’t have to be boring.

Texture and simple detail can make an otherwise boring coat, a complimentary addition to your existing wardrobe without being OTT.

If you love an eclectic look and don’t mind mixing textures, colours and prints, then select a statement piece that you will love to wear most days.

This could be a coat in a mixture of colours or a print that goes with everything.  Have fun with it and embrace your personal style.
