Revamp your entire look for spring

Spring is a great time to revamp your look. We often think a makeover requires a drastic change, but sometimes a few small tweaks can make you look and feel completely different.

Small changes are also much easier to maintain.  Once you know which colour of blush or lipstick to wear, which shapes suit your body shape and know a few easy hair styling tips, it won’t take you long to re-create your new look every morning.

Here are a few small changes that you can make, that will make a big difference to your look.

Give yourself shape:
So many women wear clothing with no shape in attempt to ‘hide’ the parts they don’t like about their bodies.  In reality you are making yourself look bigger than you really are.  Slim your look by adding some shape.  Whip that baggy top or dress into shape by adding a wide belt worn high up into your waist or opt for a fitted dress or top this spring and see the kilos fall off you in an instant.

Try a new style:
Do you wear the same thing all the time?  I find that many women have a whole bunch of the same things in their wardrobes and then wonder why they always look the same.  Ditch the uniform and try something you have never tried before.  You may even find that something as simple as adding a pair of chunky heels in an unexpected colour or a new printed scarf to your existing basics, will heighten your style factor.

Experiment with colour:
If your wardrobe lacks colour, spring is a great time to break that mold.  Add a pop of colour or print to your existing wardrobe.  It can lift your complexion and make you look slimmer than you think.  If you are uncertain of how to incorporate colour into your wardrobe or which colours to wear, take a look at this video clip.

Try something new with your hair:
It doesn’t take a major cut and colour to look different.  A small tweak to your style can give you a completely different look.  If you usually wear your hair straight, add a bit of curl.  If you always wear your hair down, try a high pony or messy bun look.  If you aren’t used to playing around with your hairstyle, book a hairstyling lesson with your hairdresser.  The new and improved you is just waiting to be discovered.

Add a pop of colour to your face:
The right shade of lipstick and a pop of blush can brighten your eyes and make you look younger.  The colour can be subtle or dramatic according to your personal style.  The key is to find the right colour for you.  Be prepared to ask advice at a cosmetic counter and try out a few.  Once you find your perfect shade, you are good to go.
