This Instagram trend is beyond beautiful

accreditation
There is no doubt that Instagram has changed the way we take pictures. Before we only had to extend our arm (hello selfie?), smile and hope for the best.

Now, thanks to technology advancement and instant playback, the entire game has changed.

Everything has to be perfect – from your look, pose and facial expression to the angle you take the picture and the background you are in. The importance of a good background has led to the newest Instagram trend, that Fashionista cleverly dubbed: ‘wall scouting’.

Fashionista had noticed that fashion bloggers and editors have started posting pictures of themselves in front of cool, artistic walls - to give their pictures an added edge/editorial shoot feel.

From epic graffiti, murals and paint jobs, more and more people are taking pictures in front of artistic walls. They are eye-catching and according to Fashionista, get more likes and engagement on Instagram than the pictures of plain boring walls with nothing to offer the viewer.

And let’s face it, in a world with a million fashion bloggers competing on one platform, a super cool wall will definitely help you stand out.

There is even an Instagram account dedicated solely to cool walls.

Instagram has also noted the importance of backgrounds, and have launched their redesigned website this week. The picture montage header is gone, the pictures are bigger and the profile picture rounded.

According to Fashionista, the new layout will be rolled out to all users by the end of the week;  the changes were done so the website could more closely resemble the app. The new look takes some getting used to and we are still deciding whether we like it or not. What do you think?
