Add a personal touch to gifts with these hand-printed ribbons

You Need

- a selection of ribbons

- rubber stamps (available at craft stores)

- craft paint in matching or contrasting colours

- sponge roller

- thick cardboard

- pretty decorative pins

Method

1. Working on a clean surface, unroll the first ribbon.

2. Place a little fabric paint in a shallow container and roll your sponge roller in the paint. Roll some paint lightly over the stamp. Ensure that the entire design on the stamp is covered and then press it gently onto the ribbon. Hold it down for a little while then lift it off carefully. Place more paint onto the stamp and press onto the ribbon again. Continue in this way until the ribbon is completely covered in designs.

3. Decorate all your ribbons in the same way, each one with its own motif and a different colour of paint. Leave to dry and then press on the reverse side with a warm iron to set the paint.

4. Cut a cardboard holder for the ribbons (see photo), roll the ribbons onto it and fasten with pretty decorative pins.
