"I actually enjoy load shedding"

I actually quite enjoy load shedding. When the lights go out, when it’s dark, my partner and I would make a lovely fire and have a two man braai and just bond. We use this time to connect with one another on a level away from the influence of technology and just have fun.

Loading shedding is a great opportunity to break away from the outside world and bond with your loved ones. It's like going on short camping trip but indoors at your own home. Priceless! - Razaan

I do agree that load shedding is boring, but sometimes it has a good effect.

It makes us very close because we are able to communicate as a family, read a lot and it also makes you think about time.

Because the thought of not knowing when it’s going to happen, keeps you on your toes and kills our laziness. It also shows that there is life after load shedding and more to love like our family and sustaining our relationships - Keneilwe 

My three year old is so cute when there’s loadshedding, she has her own little torch, and she gets ready just before the power goes out, almost like a count down.  She love playing with her torch in the dark. - Marina

When the lights go out, my family and I don't let it get us down! We break out the candles and torches and play scrabble and other boardgames until the electricity comes back on. So in a way we kind of look forward to it because it's family time.  - Natalie
