I was lost but now I’m found: missing woman not really missing

Look what the internet just spat out again. Yes, this story is nearly two years old, but it’s doing the rounds again, so we thought we’d share it with you.

Have you ever felt lost? Like you were alone in a crowd of people? Like you needed to find yourself? Well, this woman went on a literal journey of self discovery.

A group of tourists were traveling through Iceland in 2012, and stopped for a bit of a break. According to TIME, the a woman left the bus to freshen up and change her clothes, but when she came back, no one recognised her.

This, of course, led to a freak out and everyone assuming there was a ‘missing’ passenger. Unfortunately the woman didn’t recognise the description of herself. How bad could the description have been, you ask?  Apparently, the driver described her as “Asian, about 160cm, in dark clothing” and complimented her grasp of the English language.

So I totally get why this woman didn’t recognise the description of herself. He could have been describing ANY Asian woman. Although, next time they should probably wear name tags.

So, everyone hopped off the bus (the missing woman included) and had a good look around for a few hours before someone eventually realised that the woman they were looking for was, in fact, not missing at all.
