5 reasons we were a bit let down with this year's VMAs

Last year’s VMAs was so scandalous we could hardly believe our eyes. Yes, we’re looking at you Miley and Robin. And the years before haven’t exactly been tame either. Remember when Diana Ross fondled Lil Kim’s boob in the late ‘90s? Or Kanye’s “Imma let you finish, but..” moment back in 2009? With all those celebs in the same room, some crazy stuff is bound to happen! But this year’s show was tame in comparison.

Don’t believe us? Check out this list of most cringeworthy moments in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards and compare it to this year’s show.

Here’s a list of things we were kind of disappointed about:

Miley and Nicki Minaj were dressed ‘normally’
No wild or crazy hair. No insane outfits. And while they showed some skin, they looked rather tame compared to the Nicki and Miley of red carpet past, don’t you think?

The Robin Williams tribute was only 23 seconds long
Pictures of the late, great comedian were set to Coldplay’s A Sky Full of Stars.

A short paragraph about the tribute on the MTV website says “The unannounced tribute was a surprise to all who were watching, and was a short, sincere, and memorable moment as the world’s biggest musicians honored a master of a different art form, one who had made them laugh for years.”

It was way too short and badly put together. So much so that a lot of people actually found it offensive.

No one did any red carpet stunts
No one arrived in an egg or dressed as a nun with a pope on their arm. Maybe they’re keeping all of that for next year’s Grammys?

No one made out in a weird threesome
Wait. We’re actually glad that didn’t happen. We’re still scared from the Britney/Madonna/Christina kiss in 2003. *shudders*

Miley Cyrus didn’t twerk on anything

It’s taken me a full year to get used to the fact that Miley twerks on everything. Even Robin Thicke. And then she doesn’t even bloody so much as lift a butt cheek at this year’s show.
