The world's dumbest criminals will make you feel better about your life

accreditation

We all have done some pretty dumb things at some point in our lives that we would much rather forget. The memory of those moments is so profoundly embarrassing that they make you want to crawl under the duvet until someone finally makes a working, real-life model of the deneuraliser from the Men in Black movies.

But don’t worry, because no matter how stupid or embarassing that moment was for you, we're pretty sure it still wasn't as dumb as some of the things these dumb criminals tired (and failed) to pull off. Seriously, they take idiocy to a whole new level!

From being owned by their victims, to terrible planning, we present to you the world's dumbest criminals:

1. This criminal mastermind who not only got his face caught on camera, but thought a rock was the prefect break-in tool, and then fell while running away when his plan failed miserably.

2. This bright spark who thought that all the phones displayed in a store were fair game, forgetting that they are wired down.

3. This master of camouflage who thought painting his face black would hide his identity from the cops.

According to The Mirror, Jose Espinoza, a wanted criminal, thought this paint job would be enough to disguise himself while committing another crime. Clever, hey?

4. These guys who were on a budget and decided to draw on masks (badly, we might add) rather than buy actual ones for a robbery.

5. This robber who seriously underestimated his victim, and how much damage a chair can do!

6. This beer thief who lost all his stolen good during the getaway

7. And finally these geniuses who thought mugging SABC employees in front of a camera was a good idea.

Needless to say they were easily identified and arrested.
